Extra von NotHaus is the Principal of Blockchain Analysis Group, leading the firm's expert-witness and litigation-consulting practice in complex, blockchain-based matters. His work rests on an uncommon combination: a fourteen-year foundation in digital assets, tier-one institutional banking experience, and a proven ability to demystify complex code and transaction histories for legal audiences.
Backed by a BS in Physics from UCLA, an MBA, and an MS in Finance, his career bridges traditional finance and decentralized ecosystems. As a hands-on practitioner he co-founded the LD2 real-world asset tokenization protocol and has served on MIT School of Engineering PhD review committees evaluating blockchain dissertations. He also co-developed Northeastern University's first graduate-level Fintech course.
His expertise is deeply operational and technical, spanning on-chain cryptocurrency tracing, blockchain forensics, digital-asset valuation, stablecoins, and decentralized finance (DeFi). Having previously led global enterprise risk and internal audit teams as an internal management consultant for Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), he brings the institutional rigor required for expert reports and depositions — translating opaque, highly technical blockchain data into clear, legally persuasive analysis for attorneys.
Professional Experience
Retained by legal counsel to provide specialized expertise in distributed-ledger patent construction, forensic accounting of digital-asset ownership, cryptocurrency exchange disputes, B2B payment settlement infrastructure, financial-technology internal processes, banking/ATM workflow analysis, and crypto-focused estate and divorce resolutions.
Co-designed a smart-contract-driven digitization protocol and stablecoin framework; led operational deployment and compliance strategy to bridge decentralized finance with institutional standards.
Conducted rigorous technical analyses of patents related to financial-services and banking software; authored comprehensive technical briefs used in dozens of high-stakes lawsuits nationwide.
Instructed executives and graduate students on blockchain architecture and digital-asset ecosystems through The Enterprise Forum. Appointed to PhD Review Committees at the MIT School of Engineering, serving as an expert peer reviewer of doctoral dissertations on blockchain mechanics and distributed-ledger protocols.
